From Lenny 03-06-17 The Versa
5 years before Efrat passed her Sister & Brother bought her a new car (silver Versa). It was very small for her… with her total spinal fusion and hip replacements, it was not easy getting in and out of any vehicle. accepting the Versa meant she would have to give up her dodge mini van with the custom built drivers seat with 8 way power. I told her not to accept the new versa.. Keep the van.. But she told me she felt that she had to take the gift since it was offered. She was never comfortable with the versa.
1) One day she was driving on mopac and the hood just flew up. Caused a good deal of damage (damaged the lft frt fender & roof and front grille and lft headlight areas).
2) A year before she passed she was driving and the windshield fogged up... another accident (lft frt fender & lft headlight areas).
3) After she passed I started driving the car -- I drove it one day at Home Depot I came out and someone had backed into the left front fender.
4) One day at a McDonalds I came out to the car and someone had keyed the left side.
5) One day I was pulling into a driveway and the left front bumper snagged a landscape rock and slightly buckled the left front fender & headlight areas.
6) Another day at Home Depot, and I kid you not, someone had backed into that left frt fender again!
7) February 2017, I parked the car on the street in front of where I lived... at 2:30am a drunk driver slammed into (not the left frt, but the back-end) and completely obliterated the vehicle. The driver had insurance and I picked up a rental car. On March 3, 2017 the insurance check arrived and the rental was due back. Exactly 1 year to the day of her passing.
