Blind Faith (this happened a few weeks after Efrat passed away)
This is a very extraordinary event - i hereby swear every bit of this story is true
Well before Efrats passing:
I have a few tenants in Lago Vista and one of them is Johane. She has been a tenant for many years… i sort of found her living in a tent in the woods homeless… i drove her to get food and medication on and off for a few weeks then asked her to help me with some work (she did have a phone)... i told Efrat about her and Efrat was strangely interested in this living-in-a-tent-in-the-woods thing and Efrat immediately wanted to see this for herself!... so i drove Efrat out there and the two of them hit it off very quickly! (i have to add this - it was Johane that was the tenant in the ghosts-in-the-phone event!!!)... Johane was very competent in doing work for me and soon i let her move into an unfinished 1 bedroom i was using for storage... eventually she was successful in getting a good paying job and started paying rent… her only vice was drinking beer… Whenever i had to come to Lago Vista for something i would ask her if she needed anything from town.. It was always the same - take out chinese and an 18 pack of beer…
Immediately after Efrats passing:
It was very difficult for me after Efrat passed in 2016…. It took a long time for the reality to hit me and register. I started listening to Efrat’s Shlomo Artzi cds daily while driving (which evoked such powerful emotions) (and i am still listening/crying almost every day) - I also listened to news, talk & music… one day there was a song on from Blind Faith (any of you 60’s people remember?) --- i was moved and proceeded to order that same Blind Faith cd from amazon… about a week after that order was placed i was driving to Lago Vista to fix something and Johane asked me as usual to pick up an 18 pack… i arrived in Lago Vista and was almost at the convenience store where i would get Johanes beer but as i usually did i contemplated my enabling her beer drinking by my buying her this beer… i was very seriously considering not buying it… i pulled up to the intersection traffic light in center Lago… the light was red.. The convenience store was on the right just past the intersection… i looked at the light.. Then over to the store thinking was i going to stop buying her beer any time i came to Lago?... then i would look back over to the light to see if it had changed to green.. Then back over to the store… i couldn't decide!... JUST then my phone beeped (it never has done this ever before or since - i order a lot LOT of stuff on amazon and this beep thing has never happened) - my phone had a message - the Blind Faith CD has shipped. One last glance toward the store in a last ditch effort to decide whether to buy Johane her beer and i noticed that the van parked in front of the store was a business van… a drapery business.. With a large and colorful graphic that had the business name: Blind Faith.
